NOTES: The documentation of Christopher Choate's father and grandfather
was obtained through the efforts of Nadine Perkes (Utah) and
Irene Choate Williams (Tennessee). As stated in her CHOATE
Newsletter, Irene Williams feels the information is still
very sketchy, so BUYER BEWARE.. :)

According to our Beloved Irene Choate Williams, who has done extensive
work on these lines..."Other than the two men being named Christopher
we really have no evidence between 1642 when one was born and 1676 when
one came to America to satisfy me that we really have the right man..."
"Years ago I spent a lot of time at the TN state library checking
Maryland laws and discussing them with other genealogists there, trying
to determine how old Christopher was by what he received at the end of
his indenture and all I was able to find was that he was over 16. BUT
WOULD HE HAVE BEEN 34 WHEN HE ARRIVED HERE AND NOT HAD ANY CHILDREN
UNTIL 1690 AT THE AGE OF 48????"--Irene Choate Williams

  "Choate's Fancy" signed Christopher Choate SR (8), Christopher Choate JR (CC)
  28 May 1742 Flora relinguished her dower rights.
Land Record Vol TB#D ff 282-284 MHR  after disposing of "Choate's Fancy"
  Christopher Choate & Flora settled on 50 acres called "Hall's Approach"
  where he raised hogs and corn for the next 3 years.
  27 Jul 1745 William Hall & Christopher Choate SR (8) sold "Hall's Approach"
  Wives Mary Hall & Flora CHoate relinguished their dower rights.
Not listed in the tax list in 1749 in Luenburg Co, VA, with the other Choates.
So either he was too old, or had not left MD, or was dead.
