Hello, I am Debra Neiman, RN BSN. I am currently working at the Maternal Child Unit (LDR, PP, ICN) at Reynolds Army Community Hospital, Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Prior to this assignment, I worked in Neonatal Care, at Beauregard Memorial Hospital, DeRidder for over seven years. My college experience at Louisiana State University at Alexandria, resulted in a great deal of research papers, which are gathering dust in my office. My curriculum at Northwestern State University also added to this wealth of information. Additionally, most male newborns in the United States undergo circumcision, usually without anesthesia. The effects of these procedures on the newborn are compounded with the stresses of adaptation to extrauterine life.

Examine attitudes toward the impact of HIV and AIDS in Vernon Parish. Identify projected needs in Vernon Paish to meet the needs of persons infected with HIV/AIDS. Sumarize a list of resources to be provided to health care workers in VernonParish. This list would be useful when counseling family caretakers or a patient with HIV infection or AIDS.

  Dorothea Orem uses the four components of nursing care: person, health, environment and nursing in her theory. Self-care is defined as the ability to interact with the environment to perform self care to maintain life, health, and well-being. Neonates also have the potential for self care.
